Digital Twin Models
A digital twin model is a virtual representation of a physical object, system or process. It is designed to accurately reflect its real-world counterpart by using real-time data and advanced technologies like simulation, machine learning and reasoning.
Data Collection: Sensors on the physical object collect data on various parameters such as performance, conditions and environment
Data Integration: This data is transmitted to the digital twin, which updates in real-time to mirror the physical object
Simulation and Analysis: The digital twin can run simulations and analyse performance, as well as predict potential issues or improvements
Types of Digital Twins
Component Twins: Represent individual components of a system
Asset Twins: Combine multiple components to represent a complete asset
System Twins: Represent entire systems, integrating multiple assets
Process Twins: Model entire processes, from start to finish
Applications
